"Sortez les Sortants" ~ Last night I ran into my elected Representative who in conversation shared with me how the local TeaBaggers were waiting for her at our airport, to 'greet' her return from Raleigh. Made me start thinking again about civil disobedience. About 'Bapu' Mahatma Gandhi and what he was able to accomplish. I thought of Martin and Robert. The remarkable change that was delivered from a place of grace. Anger was not an option. Will, was. My concern is that the anger I see in my Country, is just that. Nothing more. Anger has nothing substantive to say. It is a crowd mentality. Friends, The Change we have been waiting for and worked so hard to uncover, has arrived and with fierce urgency, it has arrived just in time. The deep well we find ourselves in will take time to climb out of. It does not happen over night. Turning it around, is not pretty to watch. It is a long view. Give Change a chance to settle in. Let this Change, delivered in a civil way, grow roots. Give it sunlight and support. 'Unity is the great need of this hour' Dr. King once said. Put down your torches and tweets from the floor of Congress and your 'you lie' outbursts! Stay strong..stay focused. Give it a chance...to work.
